    REMPEC is administered by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in cooperation with the Mediterranean Action Plan of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP/MAP).

    In consultation with Mediterranean coastal States and the European Union, a network of National Focal Points was established to ensure an efficient exchange of information with relevant authorities.
