The two-day workshop on “Oiled Shoreline Assessment Technics (SCAT)’’ is organised in the framework of the the sub-regional agreement between Cyprus, Greece and Israel, signed in 2018, to support the implementation of the related the Sub-regional marine oil pollution contingency plan (SCP). The targeted audience of the workshop are personnel assigned to shoreline clean up operations. The objective of the workshop is to provide knowledge on oiled shoreline assessment and to ensure and harmonised methodology within the three countries.
The SCAT workshop will be followed by the 3rd preparatory Meeting of the operational authorities of the three countries responsible for the implementation of the SCP. The objectives of the meeting are:
- to review the activities implemented under the SCP since the last meeting (Greece, October 2021),
- to update the SCP Annexes
- to discuss and agree upon the program of work.
