Use of dispersants allowed, following prior official authorisation from the Marine Environment Protection Division (MEPD) of the Ministry of Mercantile Marine, Aegean & Island Policy (NCP: Annex LCP paragraphs 6.30, 6.34). |

The Ministerial Decree No 5219 (2000) defines the requirements for dispersant storage and packaging. |
Delimitation zones for the use of dispersants |
The use of dispersants is generally prohibited especially in enclosed and sensitive areas (swallow waters, coastal marine reserves, SPAs etc). It may be allowed on case basis, following prior official authorisation from the Marine Environment Protection Division (MEPD) |
