REMPEC at IUCN Congress – Sep 03, 2021
The IUCN World Conservation Congress (WCC) held in Marseille from 3 to 11 September 2021. More than 1400 state and non state organization are expected to take decision to influence global conservation policy for the coming decade. The outcomes are to prepare discussions before the UN Convention on Biological Diversity COP15 as well as show countries how conserving nature can play a vital role in building back better after COVID 19 pandemic
On this occasion, REMPEC presented, in the following sessions, the ongoing process for the possible designation of the Mediterranean Sea, as a whole, as an Emission Control Area for Sulphur Oxides (Med SOx ECA) pursuant to MARPOL Annex VI, developed within the framework of the Barcelona Convention:
