1971 Fund to be dissolved at the end of 2014 – Oct 24, 2014
The International Oil Pollution Compensation Funds are three intergovernmental organisations (the 1971 Fund, the 1992 Fund and the Supplementary Fund) which provide compensation for oil pollution damage resulting from spills of persistent oil from tankers. The 1971 Fund Administrative Council has approved and adopted a resolution that the 1971 Fund will be dissolved and its legal personality cease to exist with effect from 31 December 2014.
