COP22 - 22nd Session of the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change – Nov 07, 2016
The 22nd Session of the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP22) will be held in Marrakech (Morocco), November 7 to 18, 2016.
COP22 will take over the reins from COP21 during which important progress was made. It will focus on action items in order to achieve the priorities of The Paris Agreement, especially related to adaptation, transparency, technology transfer, mitigation, capacity building and loss and damages.
UNEP MAP will be present at the COP22, in particular during the following side-events:
- 11 November, 11:00-12:30 (Green zone): “The UNEP/MAP Regional Climate Change Adaptation Framework: a strategic approach to increase the resilience of the Mediterranean”: Programme
- 11 November, 15:00-16:30 (Green zone): “Towards a multi-scale coastal risk index for the Mediterranean”
- 12 November, 13:00-14:30 (Green zone): “Climate Change, Paris Agreement and the Mediterranean Basin: Challenges and future perspectives”
- 14 November, 11:00-12:30 (Green zone): “Towards an experts group on climate and environmental changes in the Mediterranean (MedECC)”
- 15 November, 19:00-20:30 (Green zone) : “Towards a Sustainable Mediterranean Economy”
