Farewell to Ms. Souade Nasseri – Mar 24, 2014
Ms. Souade Nasseri, Junior Programme Officer Voluntary International Scientific (VIS) of the French Government – Seconded by the French Oil Company Total S.A. to REMPEC has concluded her support to the Centre last Friday 15 March 2014. Her secondment though the VIS programme has ended in November 2013, however thanks to the direct contribution of Total S.A, the Centre benefited from her support till last Friday.
REMPEC greatly appreciated her involvement and contribution to the work of the Centre in the field of preparedness for and response to marine pollution from ships.
Souade has been, in particular, instrumental in and has greatly contributed to the implementation of the two years project for Preparedness for Oil-polluted Shoreline cleanup and Oiled Wildlife interventions (POSOW), which is now completed and to the ongoing Project Mediterranean decision support System for Marine Safety (MEDESS-4MS) to be finalised by the end of 2014. Souade will be remembered for her linguistic, organisational and management skills and for her dynamism, adaptability and professionalism.

The secondment by France of Junior Programme Officers in the framework of the French mechanism of International Scientific Volunteering enables REMPEC to benefit from the technical knowledge and dynamism of newly graduated student since 1979. The recruitment process for the selection of the new Junior Programme Officer has been initiated (see Total’s recruitment page), whilst the selected candidate is expected in Malta in May 2014.
