    Field Mission for the finalisation of the National Contingency Plan in Albania

    According to the roadmap agreed by the Inter-Ministerial Working Group Meeting held in Tirana, Albania, on 13 July 2010 organized by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Albania, REMPEC visited between 14 and 16 September 2010, the relevant national administrations involved in the development of the national contingency plan for marine pollution.

    During its visit in Durres, Vlora and Tirana, REMPEC met representatives from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the Civil Emergencies Directorate of the Ministry of Interior, the Petroleum and Mining Energy Policy Sector of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Energy, the Environment Protection Agency under the Ministry of Environment, the Harbour Master Office of Albania, the Safety and Security Directorate within the General Maritime Directorate, the Environment Department of the Port Authority and the Inter-ministerial Operational Centre (IMOC).

    The outcome of the above mentioned meetings will enable the finalization of the revision of the draft national contingency plan in view of its submission to the Council of Ministers for approval by the end of 2010.
