IMO OPRC-HNS Technical Group - TG12 – Jul 04, 2011

The International Maritime Organisation OPRC-HNS Technical Group met for its twelfth Session at IMO’s Headquarter between 4th and 8th July 2011. REMPEC attended the meeting and introduced two information papers on the 2011 Edition of the Guidelines for the use of dispersants for combating oil pollution at sea and the Mediterranean Integrated Decision Support Information System on Transport of Chemical Substances (MIDSIS-TROCS).

On 6th July 2011, the Steering Committee for the revision of MIDSIS-TROCS met to discuss the finalisation of the tool prior to its release online expected in September 2011, with the contributions of the Mediterranean Technical Working Group. The requested change of name to offer access to the tool to the international community and also in recognition of the international support and contribution for the revision of MIDSIS-TROCS was approved by REMPEC.
