Second Meeting of the Competent National Authorities for the Preparation of the Sub-regional Marine Pollution Contingency Plan Between Cyprus, Greece and Israel – Dec 13, 2016
The Regional Marine Pollution Emergency Response Centre for the Mediterranean Sea (REMPEC) convened the Second Sub-regional Meeting of the Competent National Authorities for the Preparation of the Sub-regional Marine Pollution Contingency Plan (SCP) between Cyprus, Greece and Israel, on 13 December 2016 in Valletta, Malta. The Meeting was convened in accordance with the work plan for the development of the SCP which was proposed in May 2016 by REMPEC and subsequently agreed upon by the representatives of the three countries concerned.
The main objectives of the Meeting were to present and discuss the first Draft of the SCP as well as the first draft of the Agreement for its implementation, which were prepared by REMPEC with the support of the Consultant.
Two representatives of Cyprus and one representative of Greece and Israel respectively attended the Meeting, as well as two representatives of REMPEC and the Consultant.
