Invitation to Tender for Printing Materials for POSOW Project – 05/02/2016

    Between 2012 and 2013, the Regional Marine Pollution Emergency Response Centre for the Mediterranean Sea (REMPEC) coordinated the two year project for Preparedness for Oil-polluted Shoreline clean-up and Oiled Wildlife interventions – POSOW (hereafter referred to as “POSOW I”), whose objective was to establish a regional cooperation synergy in the field of marine pollution through the enhancement of knowledge and capacities of professional and volunteer operators working in civil protection services, in municipalities and in NGOs, in the European Union coastal countries of the Mediterranean Sea (namely: Croatia, Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, Malta, Slovenia and Spain). Within the framework of the project, a set of training material was developed, covering the four (4) following themes:

    • Oiled Shoreline Assessment;
    • Oiled Shoreline Clean-up;
    • Oil Spill Volunteer Management; and
    • Oiled Wildlife Response.

     The said POSOW I set of training material, available online, was composed as follows:

    1. Four (4) manuals (in English only);
    2. Eleven (11) posters (in the different languages of the POSOW I Beneficiaries);
    3. One (1) brochure (in English only); and
    4. A set of Microsoft PowerPoint presentations (in the different languages of the POSOW I Beneficiaries).

    The manuals, posters and brochure were printed to facilitate the organization of training courses.

    Following the success of POSOW I, a follow-up project proposal has been launched in January 2015, and covers two new themes, namely:

    • Oil spill waste management; and
    • Fishermen’s support in oil spill response.

    The existing POSOW I set of training material will be supplemented with two (2) new manuals, six (6) new posters and a new brochure, which are to be published and printed by the Project Partners. Besides, the whole POSOW I and II training set will be translated in Arabic and Turkish.

    In this regard, REMPEC opened a call for quotation to ensure the printing services of the above-mentioned training material developed in both POSOW I and II, broken down in three different tasks:

    • QUOTE A: POSOW I and II Manuals
    • QUOTE B: Posters
    • QUOTE C: Brochure

    The specifications of the above tasks are specified in the below annexes.

    Interested parties were kindly invited to quote for one or several of these tasks, and to provide REMPEC with your offer(s), including technical details and the time required to fulfil the request, and send them to the following email address temporary.secretary@rempec.org not later than 12thFebruary 2016 (Please note that the deadline had been extended to 18th February 2016.)

    Services procured by REMPEC are normally exempt from all taxes and customs duties or value-added tax, and therefore the total price should reflect this (i.e. quote excluding tax). The selection criteria are the price, compliance with specification and time delivery. Particular care in producing the material favoring environmentally-friendly products/technologies will be taken into account. It is highly recommended to send a sample of products printed with the required specifications. For your information, a PDF version of a POSOW I Manual, the brochure and a poster, are attached for your information.
